Welcome to the Vallese Lab
Exploring cellular mysteries through single particle Cryo-EM.
Our Mission
In the Vallese lab, we venture into tissue-derived cell membranes to discover protein assemblies and to unveil their architecture and function within their native biological context, exploiting cutting-edge biochemical and biophysical techniques, with a focus on Cryo-EM. Being part of the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) and being in proximity to the New York Structural Biology Center (NYSBC) places our lab at the beating heart of the structural biology scene in New York City.
Collaboration and Innovation
We are committed to fostering collaborations with other researchers to expand our horizons and share diverse expertise. By integrating a wide panel of scientific disciplines, we aim to push the boundaries of biochemical research towards the future of innovative science.
Training and Mentorship
The Vallese Lab is dedicated to training graduate and undergraduate students to become independent researchers. We encourage them to dream big and pursue their passion for biochemistry and structural biology. Our lab provides a supportive environment where students can develop their skills, gain hands-on experience, and engage in cutting-edge research.
Diversity and Inclusion
Our lab is based on welcoming diverse cultures and fostering an environment of exchange and inclusion. We believe that diverse perspectives enhance our research and contribute to a more enriching community, both from a scientific and a human point of view.
